Climate change is a challenge that impacts everyone, and it’s a global issue where each of us can make a difference. In our Year 5 humanities class focused on Sustainability, students have been learning about becoming responsible global citizens and how to contribute to a greener future by being mindful of our usage of the planet’s resources.
To deepen our understanding, the students visited the Wakefield Recycle Centre to see how communities are tackling the environmental challenges we face. We engaged in workshops to explore the origins of our natural resources, the effects of their extraction for human use, and toured the recycling plant to witness the intricate systems designed to manage waste and transform it into valuable resources and energy.
This invaluable experience highlighted the essential theme of reducing, reusing, and recycling, emphasising our responsibility in safeguarding the planet’s future. 🌍♻️
