In the past week, we have had the pleasure of welcoming back esteemed alumni from across the foundation to share their expertise and experiences with our students. Their talks covered a range of subjects, offering invaluable insights that left an impression on all who attended.
James Robinson came to talk to students with an engaging and insightful presentation on Finance and smart money management. His talk provided our students with essential skills for navigating their personal finances, equipping them with knowledge that will serve them well in both the future and their present-day lives. We extend our heartfelt thanks to James for dedicating his time to empower our students with such important wisdom.
We were also honored to hear from Kay Majid, Group General Counsel at Tesco, who shared her incredible journey from Wakefield Girls’ to Cambridge University, and later, to The Royal Bank of Scotland as a Litigator. Kay’s story is one of hard work, determination, and passion, and she spoke powerfully about how these qualities led her to incredible success. Her promotion to lead a team of over 200 lawyers is a true testament to what can be achieved when you follow your passion and remain dedicated to your goals. Our students were captivated by Kay’s journey and the insights she provided into a career in law.
A big thank you to both James and Kay for coming to Wakefield Girls’ and inspiring the next generation. Their stories are a powerful reminder that with the right attitude, passion, and determination, anything is possible. We are grateful for their continued support and for taking time out of their busy schedules to give back to our school community.
