We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs. Judith Tingle as Associate Head

9th January 2025

Mrs. Judith Tingle today takes up her role as Associate Head of Wakefield Girls’ High School.

Mrs. Tingle, a highly valued and long-standing member of the school community, brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this important leadership role. Her dedication to student success and her commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment make her a powerful role model for all students.

With over 35 years of experience as an educator and leader, and having recently worked very closely with outgoing Head Ms. Boyes, the Foundation Executive Team, and Governors, the school community is delighted to welcome Mrs. Tingle into her new role and extends its warmest congratulations on this well-deserved appointment.

Mrs. Tingle is excited to start this term: “I am immensely proud to take on this interim role as we transition to the exciting new school model in September 2026. WGHS has always been a very special place to study and work for both students and staff. The values and traditions that define our school are incredibly important to me, as well as the community I now serve as Head – both past and present.  Schools constantly move forwards, as WGHS has done since I joined the school in 1990. Our current students have already been involved in voicing the values and traditions they feel are important. We will continue to maintain those values moving forwards and will be taking the very best from WGHS, QEGS and Pre-Prep as we move to be Queen Elizabeth’s School Wakefield.”
