House Fest and Foundation Charity Fayre 2024!

4th July 2024

July 3rd was an absolute blast at our school with the annual House Finale and Foundation Charity Fayre. The whole place was buzzing with excitement, and it was a perfect mix of friendly competition and community spirit.

The day started off engaging in mental and cryptic challenge escape room activities scattered throughout the school, testing students’ problem-solving skills and teamwork.

After the morning activities, we took a break with some refreshing ice lollies and music, which was a nice way to unwind. The highlight of the morning was definitely Mr. Eggleston’s Tug of War Championship. The houses went all out, and the energy was exhilarating. Following that, we had a delicious BBQ lunch, which was the perfect opportunity to catch up with friends before the big announcement of the House Winners at 1:15 pm.

The afternoon was all centred around the Foundation Charity Fayre, which has been a tradition for over a decade. The Games Field was transformed into a vibrant fairground, and students from across the Foundation came together to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust and Cancer Research UK. The Year 9 and 10 students did an amazing job running the stalls, which included henna and glitter tattoos, face painting, a pick ‘n’ mix stand, and fun games like “Guess the Sweets in a Jar” and “Splat the Teacher.” There was also Water balloon target, splat the rat, bracelet making, splat the teacher, Netball shoot out, and splat the teacher. This annual event not only fostered a sense of community and healthy competition among the houses but also demonstrated the students’ commitment to supporting important causes, making it a memorable day of achievement and charitable giving.
