On Friday 26th April the Junior Section Head Girl Umayyah and Deputy Head Girl Abby prepared and delivered an assembly, alongside their QEGS counterparts, to the children in Pre-Prep. 

The assembly was part of the transition programme that runs throughout the Spring and Summer Terms in order to best prepare the Year 2 students for their move to the respective Junior Sections. 

The theme for the assembly was “The best things about being in the Junior Section are….”. Students mentioned delightful anecdotes such as: creative carousel lessons, lunchtime and after-school clubs, House Dance Competition, Egyptian study days. 

The morning was a great opportunity for them both to practise their public speaking skills ahead of speech day later this term and also a good opportunity to gain experience preparing presentations. Both students really enjoyed themselves and they answered questions in a clear and informative way. 

We were so impressed with how sensibly the WGPPS children listened and how confidently they asked questions. We are definitely looking forward to welcoming the Year 2’s to Year 3 in September!
