The final round of judging for the Wakefield Girls’ Bake Off 2024 happened on Monday 18th March, judging the final Showstopper, where the brief had been ‘Illusion Cakes’. The aim for this round was to make their bakes look as obscure and like something else as possible, whilst also being delicious and having a satisfying texture.

We had some spectacularly creative and amusing bakes, including: toilet rolls, cleaning scourers, watermelons, a carton of milk, luxurious handbags, candles and many more! We were so impressed by the clear dedication of time and effort to create these wonderful treats.

In our Senior section:

2nd place: Poppy L – Skip to the loo cake – Mackie 

3rd place: Liliana W – Flower Fantasy – Clayton

House points will be awarded as follows: 

1st place: 50 house points

2nd place: 25 house point

3rd place: 15 house points

Overall winners of the WGHS House Bake Off Competition will receive a personalised wooden spoon, a WGHS apron and of course coveted House points for their House! Well done to all students who participated in this year’s Bake Off!
