In2Hockey Yorkshire Round

8th March 2024

Our Junior’s hockey squad were disappointed not to be a part of the World Book Day celebrations on 7th March, but were excited to compete in the Yorkshire round of the In2Hockey Yorkshire round.

Our first fixture was against Hill House. It was end to end action but a well taken shot by Hill House saw them take the lead. Unfortunately although we had several attacking phases of play we were unable to convert any of them and it ended in a 0-1 loss.

Our second game versus Pocklington was another close one. We started to defend better as a team and linked some nice passes together moving forward. It was another well struck ball that unfortunately sealed our fate in the tournament and we lost 0-1 again.

With nothing to lose in our final game versus St Peters we came out looking strong against and created some good scoring opportunities. Elsie came very close to scoring but it wasn’t to be and the game ended with a 0-0 draw.

A good day of hockey for all players. Unfortunately we are not through to the North round. Well done, a good team effort. You have come a long way since September, let’s continue to strive to improve further and score more goals!
