Our four houses: Blakey, Clayton, Lee and Mackie, have stepped into the Christmas spirit this week with preparations for our Charity Christmas Fayre on 6th December.
Once every fortnight students across all age groups within each House enjoy getting together during form time to focus on activities, and to get to know each other better, supporting well being. Each House Form has roughly 20 students in it, including students from Years 3-6 in Juniors, and in Years 7-13 in Seniors.
The aim of our House Forms is to make sure that students really get to know other house members and not just students within their own year group. Friendships beyond year groups are very special and are a brilliant opportunity for older students to provide mentorship and support to their peers in younger years. We believe that these House Forms are a vital part of the pastoral experience at Wakefield Girls’ ensuring a warm and connected school community, and also foster the camaraderie and spirit of the House System.
This week the House Forms have been busy preparing their tables to ensure they are ready for the Christmas Charity Fayre, happening on the 6th December. Over the next few weeks, there is lots to look forward to with all students competing in their Houses in a whole-school House quiz and Massaoke – Karaoke en masse! May the best House win!
