Year 3 have been enjoying their RE work about Christianity and the traditions associated with Christmas.
On Monday 20th and 27th November, our Year 3 students visited Wakefield Cathedral and learnt about some of the features of Wakefield Cathedral, such as the amazing stained glass windows. First, we created a wonderful piece of ‘Bethlehem’ artwork as a class. After this, we discussed the events of the Christmas story and at the end of our learning, we made a tableau of the stable scene after the birth of Jesus. This was definitely the highlight of our afternoon as we loved dressing up!
It was an inspiring trip for Year 3, ahead of their seasonal performance coming up in December. Year 3 would like to take this opportunity to thank Gillian at Wakefield Cathedral for two inspiring afternoons full of artwork, drama, storytelling and singing!
