On Tuesday 10th October, the Junior Section celebrated their Harvest Festival at St John’s Church. We were amazed by the generous array of donations the students brought, to support the work of St Catherine’s Pantry.
The service was led by Reverend Stephanie and was a wonderful celebration with readings and poems by students from each year group. The Under 11 Choir sang the thought provoking ‘Harvest of Love’ Song and the whole school sang the lively ‘What the Harvest Brings’.
Additionally, music was provided at the beginning and end by some of our fabulous musicians in Years 5 and 6. Thank you to all our students who donated products, and for the brilliant readings and musical performances.
Supporting charities such as St. Catherine’s is of principal importance to us at Wakefield Girls’, in accordance with our values of being together, aware, and empowered. We encourage all of our students to be philanthropic and give back to our local community, developing their sense of empathy and social responsibility.
