We are delighted to welcome James Harris, Deputy Head (Pastoral) to our school community.
James Harris, Deputy Head, Pastoral
I am absolutely delighted to join Wakefield Girls’ High School as its new Deputy Head Teacher responsible for Pastoral Care and Safeguarding. I would firstly like to thank the whole learning community in welcoming me to this fabulous school. I have been greeted with kindness and great warmth throughout my first days here and I, already, very much feel a part of the Wakefield Girls’ High School family. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Louise Ladds for her guidance over the handover period. I know everyone associated with the school wishes her well at her new school.
Previous to joining Wakefield Girls’, I had the honour of working at Hall Cross Academy, a state maintained independent Academy with over 2000 students on roll. For the past 17 years, I have worked collectively with other colleagues to create a totally inclusive and aspirant learning culture. As Assistant Principal, I had the great pleasure of leading pastoral care across all key stages of the Academy.
I am excited to be able to bring my wide and varied experiences to help and support students here at Wakefield Girl’s. I am particularly excited at the prospect of working alongside other foundation members and experiencing KS2 for the very first time!
Once again, I could not have asked for a more friendly and warm welcome from students and staff. I have really sensed that this place is more than a school, it is a school with a real soul.
