WGHS In Touch Summer Reunion 2023

20th June 2023

On Saturday 17th June, we were thrilled to welcome back 70 ‘Old Girls’ and former members of staff, to our WGHS In Touch Summer Reunion 2023.

The event is held annually, and involves a tour around the school campus, discovering and discussing all the changes that have occurred since Old Girls last visited Wakefield Girls’. Moreover, everyone enjoyed a delicious 3-course lunch in Jubilee Hall and caught up with old friends. There were speeches by Head, Ms Boyes, Head Girl Clara Elliott, Governor Mrs Helen Massey (OG, 1998) and by Mrs Amanda McCurrach (OG 1999).

Highlights this year included touring the basement underneath the main school building, where hilarious anecdotes were shared recalling classrooms in the basement and a peculiar story of a roaming donkey!

We would like to thank all our attendees for joining us on the day. It was wonderful to reconnect and hear about what our Old Girls’ have been getting up to, and we look forward to seeing them back at Wakefield Girls’ hopefully very soon.

If you are an Old Girl and would like to find out more about our events and how you can reconnect with school, here is a link to follow.
