Our U12 Netball players displayed great perseverance and determination and their true Wakefield Girls’ High School spirit shone through in their Area tournament where both teams competed really well with the B team just narrowly missing out on a semi final place by 2 goals! Everyone played to the very best of their ability and we are so proud of their performances during this tournament as they came together and gelled as a team to play some great netball. 

The A team qualified for the semi final and started off their match with 2 quick goals however by the start of the second half the score was level. Nevertheless as a team they focussed on maintaining possession and kept control of the ball allowing them to successfully progress to the final against Horbury. A similar pattern followed with some great turnovers but the game was extremely close and at the end of full time it was level again. After 3 very close minutes of extra time they came away with the win and were crowned U12 Area Champions!
