On Tuesday, all students from Year 3 to Year 13 participated in the sponsored House Danceathon which was raising money for our four House Charities: Darjeeling Children’s Trust, Macmillan Cancer Support, Guide Dogs and CAP UK.
Throughout the day, students from each year participated in a 50-minute dancing session, where they had to dance along to a variety of JustDance songs without stopping! They were judged on their commitment to their dance performances and also their costumes, as they were instructed to accessorise their PE kit with their House colours.
Alongside raising money for some amazing charities, the Danceathon was also an event in which students could raise much coveted House points! At the end of the day, the points from each session were added up. Clayton House came in first place and earned 100 House points, Blakey in 2nd received 75 points, Lee gained 50 points for coming in 3rd place and Mackie won 25 points for 4th place.
Thank you to the students for their brilliant efforts dancing today – it was very hot in Jubilee Hall but you all showed resilience and kept going! In particular, a big thank you to our Student Leaders in Years 12 and 13, who are Heads of House and Deputy Heads of House, who extraordinarily ran the Danceathon sessions all day, dancing throughout and encouraging the students to give it their all! Thank you Liv, Komal, Jahaan, and Katie!
We will make sure to update you on how much the House Danceathon has raised in the upcoming weeks as all the students bring in their sponsorship money.
