Year 5 Sustainability

1st February 2023

Year 5 junior students have been developing their understanding of sustainability and the roles they can play in looking after the environment as they study Science, Geography, History, Art, Design and Technology.

Learning about the 17 Goals adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development led to passionate debate about which 3 goals were most important and why !  Following lessons focussing on climate change and global warming we were impressed with the thoughtful responses from students about what they would like to see happen.

On Monday 30th January, students shared their creative and well manufactured responses to repurposing unused items at home. Amongst their many recycled creations were a dog house, a post box, cushions, bags, slippers, diary and pencil case.
