Year 8 Celebrate With Parents

5th October 2022

In the first few weeks of every new academic year, our tradition is to celebrate the previous and look ahead to the future. This week, it was the turn of Year 8 to come together for our traditional Celebration Assembly:  time to reflect on their time in Year 7, celebrate their achievements and look ahead to the future.

We were delighted to welcome 75 parents to join us for the celebration, starting with breakfast –  a wonderful opportunity for Heidi-Jayne Boyes, her team and parents to talk informally.

Wakefield Girls have a thirst for knowledge, love to learn and celebrating together unites each Year Group.  Ms Boyes remarked upon the diverse range of achievements of Year 8 students from their first senior year at Wakefield Girls’.  Commendations for effort as well as year prizes, individual prizes and medals were awarded.

Thank you to governor Martin Shevill for joining us on this occasion,  handing out the many awards.

Ms Boyes closed the assembly with a reminder to students to see the opportunities that each day brings, make the most of them, learn from them and most importantly, to enjoy their school journey.
