Year 7 Welcome Residential

28th September 2022

Welcome Year 7 !

After a summer of anticipation, we have all enjoyed welcoming students into Year 7 of our senior section.  To start the year of new beginnings,  Head of Year 7, Mrs Lindley, was eager to have everyone feeling right at home.  Strengthening community and collaboration is such an important way to help everyone in our school be successful together. We saw a very positive start to this when Mrs Lindley and Year 7 set off for their residential in The Lake District which is always a great opportunity for students to bond

Mrs Lindley had an enthusiastic Year 7  who were ready to learn and lead, be kind and help each other and who took part in many challenges and adventures together.   Over three days, students united over raft building, canoeing,  climbing, abseiling, developing their bush craft skills, testing themselves on the Challenge Course and enjoying archery and local fell walking.  In true Wakefield Girls style, the day concluded with time to relax and get together with a well deserved hot chocolate.

What a great way to start life and learning in seniors,  establishing and strengthening friendships.
