Paris Trip

28th June 2022

Wakefield Girls’ offers a variety of Modern Languages trips to a variety of locations in France, Germany and Spain.

Following pandemic related disruption to our annual overseas study trips, we were delighted to return to Paris this year enabling students to experience language, culture and some of the city’s main sights.   This year, students travelled by Le Shuttle and toured the famous monuments of Paris, took a Bateau Parisien along the Seine, enjoyed time inside the beautiful Sacré Coeur and longer visits to The Eiffel Tower, Montmartre and Disneyland.

Some students share their opinions about their visit:

“I enjoyed swimming in the evening, it was relaxing after walking around all day. I also enjoyed the evening activities, especially Ambush.”

“I enjoyed having free time with my friends, walking around Paris and seeing all the famous monuments – especially the Eiffel Tower.”

“I particularly enjoyed having fun with my friends and the views from the Eiffel tower were amazing. The PGL team were really friendly and gave us some really interesting facts about Paris. The swimming pool was really warm and was great fun as well. The evening activities were fun and were a great chance to bond with friends. Paris was amazing and I loved the boat ride. I also enjoyed the baguette for lunch every day which was really tasty. A memory I won’t forget is going on the same ride 5 times at Disneyland because it was just so fun!”

“The Château de Grande Romaine was really nice and the facilities were so good especially the Pool and the Party. My lasting memory is having the opportunity to spend the time in Paris with all my friends.”

“I enjoyed it very much.  For me the best part was being able to go around Disneyland in our groups and do whichever rides we wanted. The most interesting part was the boat trip and learning about the different bridges, the chateau was very nice and clean, the visits were very enjoyable and I like Paris a lot.  My lasting memory would probably be going on Indiana Jones with my friends (I had my eyes closed the whole time) and getting off it at the end shaking because we went upside down.”

Thank you to Château de Grande Romaine for a wonderful stay.
