Sixth Former Wins Prestigious ARTiculation Regional Final

28th March 2022
As winner of the regional final of the prestigious national ARTiculation competition held at the Baltic Gallery in Gateshead, Hannah travelled to the National Gallery, London on Wednesday 23rd March to take part in the ARTiculation Grand Final.
The judges praised Hannah in the regional competition for drawing those connections between science and art and for engaging the audience from the very beginning. They congratulated Hannah for questioning how we look at the work and how we look at the world in general, describing her presentation as ‘calm and clearly delivered’.
In the Grand Final, the judges further praised Hannah’s points commenting upon how Hannah took us into the way the brain perceives images – this can be seen in the new Bridget Riley in the Getty Entrance! It is so important to consider how the brain handles what it sees, and you made us all look again at the picture and see it differently.
The national ARTiculation competition attracts over 1, 000 entrants annually – huge congratulations to Hannah on her wonderful achievement.
