Our school is a close knit community where students are cared for, cared about and lifelong friendships are made. As part of Children’s Mental Health Week we have been encouraging students to consider how they have grown and how they can help others to grow with a focus on wellbeing and health.
Our trained student Peer Mentors have made it an especially wonderful week, playing Connect 4 with our year 5 and 6 students at lunchtimes, providing great opportunities for Junior girls to ask questions about life in the Senior section, make connections with older students and have a general chat together.
Junior students have also been enjoying many other activities: focusing on deep breathing and being present in the moment with yoga and meditation, some lively Just Dance sessions as well as lots of activities in class and a “Screens Challenge” – 24 hours with no screen time on phones/tablets/games consoles.
