House Update

17th December 2021

One significant and exciting change for us all this term has been the introduction of our House System for the whole school, Years 3-13, bringing a chance for healthy competition and for everyone to be involved.  Following some healthy debate around appropriate names, our community finally decided on Heywood (Yellow), Lee (Blue), Mackie (Red) and Clayton (Green) which recognises our school’s heritage and the people who lived in our school buildings.

Meeting fortnightly in vertical forms,  our Houses have really brought our community even closer.  This term there have been activities that have spanned from writing a House ethos to inter-House sports contests, a conker competition, pumpkin carving, contributing to the school calendar competition, creating a mammoth paper chain and an exceptional quiz which raised an amazing £3,758 for our chosen House charities: Macmillan Cancer Support (Lee House), Darjeeling Trust (Clayton House), CAP Care (Mackie House) and Yorkshire Guide Dogs (Heywood House). Many thanks to all who kindly contributed.
