Ethos of the Department

We aim to enable our students to achieve the best possible results in public examinations, but we equally endeavour to  promote an interest in the subject itself, and to become conversant with all the skills offered by History, as well as providing them with the context necessary to understand our modern world.

In our teaching we aim to ensure our pupils have excellent substantive subject knowledge and promote and foster a culture of questioning interpretations of the past, using the best of both modern and traditional methods.
