Wakefield Girls’ High School

Welcome from Mrs Gunson

At WGHS girls are encouraged to break through ‘the glass ceiling’ — to be creative, to be brave and to take risks; to rise to challenges and not to let setbacks, set them back.

The School provides a warm and vibrant community with a strong sense of identity and history. Our aim is for every girl to achieve the best they possibly can, through stretching the individual and adding value to their education.

Every talent is nurtured and celebrated; each girl is valued. High School girls benefit from a rounded education and rich cultural life, meaning that the possibilities for them are endless.

Our girls are encouraged to become strong role models within the school community and they are our best ambassadors. Articulate yet modest, they are the next generation of well educated professionals, with high aspirations and a proud heritage.
