Ever girl is valued; community spirit, kindness and effort are considered just as important as academic achievement.
The strength of the pastoral system underpins all areas of school life. Years of experience has taught us that girls particularly respond best when they feel secure and happy.
Confidence is developed by enabling girls to achieve success. Girls express opinions, work collaboratively and nurture compassion to understand the needs of others. Each girl is unique. Treated as an individual and encouraged to know her own mind, a girl’s talents and achievements in all areas of school life are encouraged and recognised. The girls are encouraged to be responsible and respectful to those around them.
We encourage parents to speak with staff regularly and stay informed. Parents can help their daughter's development by working in partnership with class teachers.
From starting in Reception, pastoral lessons help girls to develop their confidence by learning to express opinions, working with their peers and nurturing compassion to understand the needs of those around them. The Personal Social Health Economic Education (PSHEE) curriculum prepares older girls to face the emotional and social challenges of the wider world and develops a strong moral code.
Everyone in the school feels part of our open-hearted and supportive community. Girls, the School and parents work together in a partnership of openness and trust. Strong and lasting friendships grow in an atmosphere that respects all cultures and celebrates successes.
“The Junior School prides itself on providing a happy, caring and secure environment.”
