On Monday 6th November, students from 5SM visited Wakefield Cathedral, to enrich their classroom learning on Christianity prior to their upcoming Christmas concert.
During the visit they explored the importance of signs and symbols in religion and how the church uses these images to represent aspects of Christianity. The students learnt about the significance of the altar, the font and votive candles and their religious meanings.
They also participated in group activities to explore the history of the cathedral using signs and symbols around this historic building and walked the labyrinth displayed on the entrance floor.
Thank you to Wakefield Cathedral for hosting us. It was a most interesting and informative visit and the cathedral welcomes 5AB next week.
