On the 28th June, Year 4 and Year 5 boys from a small selection of our partner primary schools will join us for a full day of fun and educational activity!
This FREE activity will give Year 4 and Year 5 students the opportunity to taste the QEGS experience, taking part in an exciting carousel of activities. Each activity has been designed to help boys to start to create the next chapter of HIS story, discovering new passion points and perhaps even unearthing hidden talents along the way.
And of course, it wouldn’t be an experience at QEGS without a little friendly competition!
Split into 4 Houses; Bentley, Cave, Freeston and Savile, the boys will take on a carousel of 6 themed activities with the aim of scoring the most points for their respective House.
The themes will be:
House points will be awarded to individuals for demonstrations of our school values: care, contribute, aspire.
Following each activity there will be an opportunity for boys to pause for reflection in HIS Story Journal, allowing them to process their thoughts and emotions, gain insights into their experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves in preparation for their transition to secondary school.
At the end of an action-packed day, all the boys will come together for our celebratory House Assembly – their parents are also welcome to attend. During the assembly boys will have the opportunity to share their reflections from the activities and showcase some of their new-found skills in front of their peers. Individual awards will also be presented for outstanding achievements, and everyone will receive a certificate of QEGS-ellence.
Last, but by no means least, we will tally up the total House points collected throughout the day and announce the winning House of the inaugural HIS Story Matters event!
If you believe that this would be a valuable experience for your Year 4 and Year 5 students, we would love to hear from you!
