On the 7th June, Year 5 boys from a small selection of our partner primary schools will join us for a full day of fun and educational activity!

This FREE activity will give Year 5 pupils the opportunity to taste the QEGS experience, taking part in an exciting ‘Apprentice’ style enterprise day. Working as a team, each element of the day has been designed to help boys to start to create the next chapter of HIS story, discovering new passion points and perhaps even unearthing hidden talents along the way.

Activity Themes

And of course, it wouldn’t be an experience at QEGS without a little friendly competition!

Split into 4 Houses; Bentley, Cave, Freeston and Savile, the boys will take on a carousel of 4 themed activities with the aim of creating, launching and promoting their own product, aiming to score the most points for their respective House along the way.

The themes will be:

    • Inspire – work as a team to design your product
    • Create – a practical, hands-on sessions
    • Design – how will you package the product?
    • Promote – record your own advertising campaign and radio jingle

Extra house points will be awarded to individuals for demonstrations of our school values: care, contribute, aspire.

Pauses for reflection

The boys will be presented with their own HIS Story Journal, allowing them to process their thoughts and emotions, gain insights into their experiences, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves in preparation for their transition to secondary school.

Celebration event

At the end of an action-packed day, all the boys will come together for our celebratory House Assembly – their parents are also welcome to attend. During the assembly boys will have the opportunity to share their reflections from the activities and showcase their products and their new-found skills in front of their peers. Individual awards will also be presented for outstanding achievements, and everyone will receive a certificate of QEGS-ellence.

Last, but by no means least, we will tally up the total House points collected throughout the day and announce the winning House of the inaugural Make HIS Story event!
