It’s the way our children learn that WE CAN ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

As a Yorkshire-loving pre-prep school and part of the Wakefield Grammar School Foundation, one thing we really care about is being socially engaged with our wider community.  Our support for a wide range of charities includes building a schoolwide understanding of what they do, developing a caring collective mindset and placing fundraising front and centre of many school activities. We encourage all of our students to develop a sense of empathy, responsibility and togetherness as they join together to broaden their horizons, improve our community and inspire each other.

MAD Days.

Once a term we have a MAD (Making A Difference) Day where we support our chosen charities with engaging fundraising activities. We’re crazy about working together to support charities, both in our community and nationally, because it helps students to develop empathy, social responsibility and a growing sense that they can make a real difference to the world around us. There’s method in our MAD Days because the togetherness they engender, makes pre-prep a truly positive and wonderful place to be.

supporting charities

Supporting Charities locally and nationally, comes naturally.

To make our children as aware of the world as possible, we spread our support across a wide range of charities. Amongst the national ones we support are the Children’s Cancer Charity, Royal British Legion, Book Trust, Barn Owl’s Trust and Place 2 Be  – Children’s Mental Health, while locally, we lend our enthusiastic support and energy to charities like Zarach and Candlelighters.
