Our Sports Days: A Dazzling Display of Athletic Talent

1st July 2025

What a spectacular series of Sports Days we’ve enjoyed here at Wakefield Grammar Pre-Prep celebrating the athleticism, resilience, and sheer joy of our youngest children!

Our first Sports Day of the year belonged to FS1, and it was packed with running, balancing, jumping, catching, and so much more! It was truly heartwarming to see all our children enjoying themselves, and the cheers grew even louder as parents joined in for the classic egg and spoon race. The afternoon was a delightful blend of friendship, smiles, and pure fun, as the children proudly showcased the skills they’ve been developing in PE and Games lessons, cheered on by their teachers and loved ones. Well done, FS1!

On June 16th, KS1 held their annual Sports Day, a fantastic showcase of all the amazing skills they’ve honed this year. We were incredibly proud to witness their impressive throwing and catching, alongside some truly fantastic footwork! Highlights included the ever-popular space hopper race, challenging agility courses, and energetic football, rugby, and of course, the traditional running races. Every child displayed incredible athleticism and resilience. Well done, KS1!

The final year group to hold their Sports Day was FS2, delivering an afternoon of truly exciting athletic activities. Their day was filled with smiles and laughter as they competed in the space hopper race, leaped over hurdles, and showcased their impressive throwing and catching skills. We are immensely proud of the dedication and talent they’ve developed during their PE and Games lessons; their athletic ability shone brightly throughout the entire Sports Day. A big well done to FS2!
