It’s the way we never stop giving children A BETTER START.

Our aim is to ensure that children can progress happily and develop a positive sense of identity which will inspire them to try new things. Right from Day One, every child is involved in every area of school life and encouraged to take part in appropriate activities, whether  it’s becoming responsible for their bookbag, coat and shoes, helping in an assembly, joining an event, celebration or involvement in class.

Giving young bookworms an appetite for reading.

Reading is key to every child’s development and in each class we inform and inspire them by selecting high quality texts and regularly introducing new authors. Children are encouraged and motivated to read at home through recommended reading lists and exciting reading challenges. It’s all part of the way we build individual confidence and grow the individual potential of each child.

Personal support every step of the way.

Because every pupil learns differently, we think differently, taking the time to understand how each individual learns best through observing, reading 1:1 and phonic assessments, together with formal reading, maths and grammar assessments.

By supporting all children to complete assessments, we tailor our support and gently bring out the best in everyone, making their journey through pre-prep a happy and rewarding one.

Learning

We’re here for you and your child.

You’ll find it really easy to reach any of us by email, phone or in person. We see each child’s journey through pre-prep as an enjoyable experience every family can share, so besides ongoing, informal communication we regularly keep you up to speed with progress via project samples that illustrate how your child is developing and photos of their learning experiences via our online system (Firefly).

Keeping you in the picture.

Our weekly newsletter is filled with useful nuggets of information about what’s happening in school and is further supported by ad hoc information evenings. Besides our more detailed formal reports and invitations to parents’ evenings (twice a year), children also have home organisers with special sections for parents to write any notes they wish to share. Our doors are always open to keep you fully in the picture about everything your child is achieving.
