Santa Dash for Charity

12th December 2023

On Monday 11th December, we held our sponsored Santa Dash. The children have been collecting sponsorship money in the run-up to this event in support of Wakefield Hospice and Leeds Hospitals Charity. The children, all sporting a pair of reindeer antlers, hopped, skipped, jumped their way around the Christmassy obstacle course.

The children all took part in a carousel of festive activities throughout the day. Each year group enjoyed a Christmas party, which involved fun party games and had the children and teachers showing off their dance moves!

Afterwards, the children settled down cosily in the Burrow, where they listened to a Christmas story and were treated to a hot chocolate and a cookie from Mrs Claus.

As if that wasn’t enough excitement for one day, each class had a surprise visitor –  an elf! The elf brought a very exciting letter – an invitation to Santa’s Grotto! Each class made their way up the stairs to find that one of the classrooms had been magically transformed into a grotto! The children’s faces lit up as they discovered that Santa Claus and his cheeky elf were waiting for them and they each received a special gift.

Magical memories were made, which will last a lifetime.
