On Tuesday 27th September, we celebrated European Day of Languages. The children took part in a range of activities in school including trying foods, dancing and channelling our inner Monet in our art sessions.
FS2 loved reading The Very Hungry Caterpillar in French. We learnt to say colours, days of the week and the names of food items in French. We used the bricks to make the Eiffel tower and recreated Monet’s painting bridge over a pond of waterlilies.
In Year 1 we read David McKee’s Elmer book in French, showing how much we know about French colours.
Year 2 enjoyed researching flags around the world, listening to stories in other languages, building the Eiffel Tower from spaghetti and marshmallows as well as sampling croissants, pain au chocolate and baguettes.
