Year 2 Embark on an Action-Packed Adventure to Cliffe House

21st May 2026

Our Year 2 pupils recently set off on an exciting residential adventure to Cliffe House, diving into lots of fun outdoor activities which really helped them to further develop their teamwork and resilience.

The trip was packed with thrilling challenges from start to finish. Our young explorers tried their hand at the climbing wall, hitting the target in archery, and even discovered local wildlife during a pond-dipping session. They also took part in collaborative team building exercises, a high-energy treasure hunt, and essential bushcraft skills, including fire lighting and traditional bread making.

Throughout the trip, pupils were encouraged to be inquisitive, resilient, and brave. We were incredibly proud to see how supportive and encouraging they were to their peers, cheering each other on every step of the way.

After a busy day outdoors, everyone settled down to wind down with a movie, hot chocolate, and cookies before bed. Alongside the outdoor pursuits, there were plenty of extra challenges to tackle, including the art of making their own beds and ensuring they had the right footwear and clothing on for the British weather! The adventure didn’t stop when the sun went down. Back at the lodge, there was lots of excitement as the children shared rooms and negotiated who would sleep on the coveted top bunks.

To celebrate a fantastic and successful trip, the group enjoyed a wonderful stop at Yummy Yorkshire on the way home for a well-earned ice cream. Well done, Year 2, you were absolute superstars!
