VE Day: Learning About and Commemorating a Historic Day

8th May 2025

Our youngest learners recently marked the significant occasion of VE Day with a lively party! The children thoroughly enjoyed a party filled with music, dancing, and delicious treats.

The air was filled with joyful sounds as the children danced and sang along to classic 1940s party music, bringing the spirit of the era to life. They enthusiastically waved their Union Jack flags, adding a splash of colour and excitement to the festivities.

Alongside the fun and games, the children also took the opportunity to learn about the historical importance of VE Day. They gained an understanding of why this day is remembered and celebrated around the world. The children also indulged in tasty homemade biscuits and juice, adding a delightful element to their special party.

It was a truly fantastic time for our Early Years children, providing them with a memorable and engaging introduction to a significant moment in history.
