Children started off Safer Internet Day early with a focus on developing crucial online safety skills. Mr Bray and Mr Hodson led an engaging assembly about identifying potential online scams and recognising many “too good to be true” scenarios. The children actively participated, sharing their own thoughts for spotting suspicious activity, such as always asking a parent or trusted adult and being extra safe when clicking on unfamiliar websites or links. The assembly emphasised the importance of thinking before you click and being responsible online.
On Tuesday, pupils further explored online safety through a variety of activities. These sessions focused on understanding the credibility of online information, particularly since the rise of AI-generated content. pupils learned to differentiate between reliable facts and potentially misleading information, developing a more developed approach to being safe around online content. The activities aimed to equip our children with the skills to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly.
