On Thursday 6th June, our FS1 children made the short walk down Margaret Street to the Quad at Wakefield Girls’ High School, where they competed in plenty of fun sporting events as part of their annual Sports Day.
Always a highlight of the children’s year, Sports Day is an exciting opportunity for the children to run wild and compete in a variety of different sporting activities in a relaxed and supportive environment. The children were divided into ten teams, competing alongside their fellow House members. They participated in a carousel of eight activities, each five minutes long, alongside two rest breaks.
Activities included a shuttle run, bean bag throw, football dribble, a catching circle, hurdles, quoit balance, speed bounce, obstacle relay, egg and spoon race and a bean bag balance.
Dressed in their sports kits adorned with their House colours, it was lovely to see all of the children with big smiles on their faces as they competed alongside their friends to win House points. We were delighted to see so many of our parents and carers attend the event, eagerly cheering on their children from the sidelines.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, we hope to see you again very soon!
