Anti-Bullying Week 2022

18th November 2022

This week we have been celebrating Anti-Bullying Week in Pre-Prep. The theme for Anti-Bullying Week this year is ‘Reach Out’, encouraging children and parents alike to reach out and support our friends and fellow members of the school community.

Anti-Bullying Week began with Odds Socks Day. All you needed to do to participate was to wear odd socks! It’s a great way to celebrate what makes us all unique, and to remind us all to be kind to one another and respect each other’s individuality.

Odd Socks Day is delivered in partnership with CBeebies and CBBC star Andy Day and his band, Andy and the Odd Socks. The band recorded and released a toe-tapping song to mark Odd Socks Day, which the students enjoyed listening and dancing along to! There was no pressure to wear the latest fashion or to buy expensive costumes. All you had to do to take part was wear odd socks to school, at work or at home.

In 2021 over 5 million children, thousands of parents, and hundreds of workplaces got involved in Odd Socks Day, with celebrities such as Ant and Dec, Brian May and Sir Mo Farah also participating and donning their odd socks! It is such a good way to highlight the important issue of bullying in a fun way.
