This week, Dr Brookes’ assembly shone a spotlight on the rewards of resilience and determination, inspired by the journey of GB sprinter Amy Hunt, who overcame multiple setbacks to become a Tokyo 2025 World Championship silver medallist and an Oxford graduate. Her story demonstrated that with perseverance, excellence can be achieved across all areas of life — whether in sport or academia.
In the same spirit, we were proud to celebrate the achievements of our own students. Congratulations to Hurr, Sam, Om, Lawrence, Alfie, Caleb, Henry, Ihan, Aston, Sam and Usman, who each received school ties in recognition of their outstanding academic performance.
Two of the school’s most prestigious academic awards were presented:
The Savile Tie
Awarded to Year 12 students who have achieved exceptional GCSE results across the board, with an average grade of approximately 8.4 across eight subjects. These students rank themselves among the best in the country and demonstrate aptitude and ability across a wide range of disciplines.
The Academic Tie
Awarded to Year 12 students who did not receive the Savile Scholar tie but who achieved a Grade 9 in at least one GCSE subject.
These awards represent the highest levels of commitment and achievement, and we are delighted to see such talent flourishing in our Sixth Form.
Congratulations once again to all the recipients — a true celebration of academic excellence.
