The school hall was transformed into a gripping, and wonderfully eccentric, world of mystery and intrigue this week as our talented Year 6 pupils took to the stage for their summer production, The Alphabet Murders.
The show kicked off with a brilliant, creative spark from Mr Cheffins and Mr Renshaw. Inspired by a quirky combination of Agatha Christie’s The ABC Murders and the crime-solving antics of Scooby-Doo, they crafted an incredibly loose adaptation of the Hercule Poirot classic. Audiences were told to brace themselves for the unpredictable: while neither the famous bow-legged Great Dane nor Poirot’s iconic waxed mustache made an appearance, the stage was instead filled with psychotic dodos, the Hound of the Baskervilles, ghosts, monsters, and dancing Morlocks.
True to its word, the production was a hilarious, high-energy triumph! Our young cast handled the twisty plot, absurd characters, and fast-paced comedy with incredible maturity and flawless timing. From the spookiest monsters to the most chaotic dodos, every single member of Year 6 brought immense enthusiasm and fantastic stage presence to their role.
It was clear to everyone that the pupils’ tireless rehearsals, line memorising, and hard work over the term had truly paid off. Beyond the fantastic acting on stage, the production was a marvellous team effort.
We extend a huge thank you to all the families, friends, and staff who joined us to fill the hall with applause and support our performers. Your fantastic energy gave our Year 6s a wonderful send-off performance that they will remember for years to come.
A final, massive congratulations goes to our Year 6 superstars, you handled the ghosts, the monsters, and the mystery flawlessly, and absolutely stole the show!
