To celebrate Eid, students at QEGS took part in a series of enriching and immersive workshops led by Equilibria, designed to deepen their understanding of Islamic culture and traditions. The sessions provided a unique opportunity for pupils to engage with different aspects of Islamic heritage through hands-on activities and thought-provoking discussions.

One of the highlights was the Calligraphy Workshop, where students explored the artistic significance of Arabic script in Islamic culture. Unlike other artistic traditions that often focus on figurative imagery, Islamic art frequently uses calligraphy as a means of creative expression. Under expert guidance, pupils experimented with traditional materials, using ink and bamboo pens to craft their own calligraphy pieces.

The Artefacts Exploration session allowed students to engage directly with historical Islamic objects, offering a tangible connection to the rich traditions of the Muslim world. By examining artefacts and learning about their significance, students gained a deeper appreciation for the cultural and religious heritage associated with Eid and Islam as a whole.

In the Prayer & Positions workshop, students explored the role of prayer in Islam and the deeper meaning behind its movements. They learned about the physical and spiritual aspects of worship, gaining insight into the ways in which prayer strengthens personal faith and fosters a sense of unity within the Muslim community.

These workshops provided an engaging and interactive way for students to celebrate Eid while developing a greater cultural awareness and appreciation for Islamic traditions. Through exploration, creativity, and discussion, the sessions encouraged students to broaden their perspectives and embrace the diversity that enriches our school community.
