This House competition with a difference was aimed at the very many talented aspiring chefs we have in school. The audition round involved entrants creating dishes at home and then submitting photographic evidence of their adventurous cooks/bakes. After much deliberation over the number of entries, finalists were selected to represent their respective Houses with each House preparing and presenting a three course menu. Final day was brilliant, the aspiring chefs were focused on their entries and overcame a few interesting moments with aplomb. The finished dishes were judged by a worthy panel; consisting of Dr Brookes, Mrs Palin, Ed Marsh, George Booth and James Ackroyd. They had a challenge on their hands as all dishes were delicious and well presented.
The winner of the inaugural Master Chef Competition was Freeston (best overall), comprising Subhaan Sarwar, Philip Birden and Orin Wood. Best starter went to Saville (Lu-ay Hassan), best main to Freeston (Philip Birden) and best dessert to Cave (Thomas Goodrum). Well done everyone.
