QEGS vs Hymers Match Report

17th November 2021
QEGS faced a spirited Hymers College team in the third round of the National Schools’ Cup. The match was very competitive at the start with both teams trying to impose their game plan early on; breakdown penalties were given to both teams evidencing their desire to win.
The black and gold began to get a foothold in the game, making gain line in attack, keeping some shape and width, and allowing them to play rugby at the spaces. This created some good opportunities which were duly converted.
The defensive effort from the team was impressive, managing to keep Hymers at bay throughout.
All in all, it was a very good display of rugby from both teams, but QEGS ran out comfortable winners at 33-0. Despite defeat, the opposition should be credited for their efforts and attitude towards the contest.
