Sixth Form life is a truly distinctive and formative phase of a school career at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School. Positive and vibrant, this is a place where students fulfill their potential.
They have real input into, and responsibility for, the running of the school. Our Sixth Form vitally bridges the gap between school and university.
The QEGS Sixth Form is a community full of spirit and camaraderie; proud of individual and collective achievements and possessing an inherent sense of responsibility for the wider community, within and beyond the school.
Academically, students have the opportunity to flourish in their chosen disciplines, while following a curriculum that embraces breadth and diversity.
Students gain much from responsibilities and leadership opportunities, as well as the plethora of diverse extra-curricular activities to stretch and challenge students’ capabilities.
The attitude, involvement and performance of our Sixth Form students, very much influences the character of QEGS.
As a member of the Sixth Form community, students will be guided and inspired through their Sixth Form journey by their Form Tutor, Subject Teachers, Heads of Departments, the Head of Sixth Form and the Senior Management Team.
Close collaboration with Wakefield Girls’ High School (WGHS) ensures students can enjoy all the benefits of a single-sex Sixth Form with many opportunities for co-curricular activities through The Arts, visits and expeditions and the option to study A-level subjects taught jointly between both schools.
