Old Girl Delivers Insightful Health Economics Lecture to Radcliffe Scholars and Year 12 Students

10th October 2024

On Monday, our Radcliffe Scholars and a group of Year 12 pupils were treated to an enriching Health Economics lecture delivered by Laura Everett, an alumna of the class of 2010 and now a Senior Manager at FIECON, a leading Health Economics and Outcomes Research Consultancy.

Laura provided an in-depth overview of the prescription drug production process, covering every stage from initial development in the lab to patient access. The talk gave students a comprehensive understanding of the complex journey a drug must go through, including proving cost-effectiveness, navigating market access, and reaching the hands of patients in need.

This lecture is part of our ongoing Academic Enrichment Programme, designed to expose students to real-world applications of their studies and provide insight into various professional fields. Laura’s talk was an excellent example of how we encourage our students to aim high and learn from those who have excelled in their careers.

At QEGS, we recognise talent and potential through our Scholars Pathway, offering a number of scholarships to students entering our Senior Section and Sixth Form. The Scholars Pathway is designed to nurture each scholar’s academic abilities and equip them for outstanding performance, providing opportunities such as this lecture to further enrich their learning experience.

We extend our sincere thanks to Laura for returning to share her expertise and inspire the next generation of scholars.
