Year 13 Leavers’ Ball 2026

7th May 2026

Friday 24 April, the Royal Armouries in Leeds played host to a defining milestone for our Year 13 students. The annual Leavers’ Ball brought together students from both WGHS and QEGS for a final, formal celebration of their time within the Foundation.

The evening is a long-standing tradition that marks the transition from students to alumni. As is customary, the arrivals did not disappoint; from sleek classic cars to the more unconventional choice of a house, the students made their entrances in style, dressed to the nines for their final curtain call.

Following a three-course meal, the atmosphere stayed high with the annual awards ceremony. It was a chance for staff and students to share a final few laughs over categories ranging from ‘Most Likely to go on Love Island’ to ‘Best Duo,’ reflecting the close-knit bonds formed over the years.

As the music took over for the final portion of the night, the dance floor remained packed – a fittingly energetic end to a journey that, for many, began over a decade ago. While the focus now shifts to A-level examinations and study leave, the Leavers’ Ball served as a vital reminder of the friendships and memories that will outlast any exam season.

We wish the Class of 2026 the very best of luck.
