Ski Trip – Val Thorens, December 2025

8th January 2026

Over the Christmas break, a fantastic group of pupils and staff travelled to Val Thorens for this year’s Ski Trip.

With just 19 boys taking part, the trip had a close-knit feel from the outset. Following smooth travel from Manchester, the group arrived in the French Alps to clear skies and crisp mountain air and ideal skiing conditions. Excitement was high and pupils were keen to get out onto the slopes and make the most of every opportunity.

The reduced group size allowed for a more personalised approach to skiing and the progress made over the week was impressive. Beginners grew in confidence with every run while more experienced skiers challenged themselves on tougher terrain. Throughout the week, pupils showed resilience determination and a great sense of humour particularly when dealing with the occasional tumble.

Off the slopes, apres-ski activities such as sledging and snow tubing provided plenty of laughter and a chance to relax together after busy days on the mountain. These shared experiences helped to strengthen friendships and build a strong sense of camaraderie within the group.

The pupils represented the school superbly throughout the trip demonstrating excellent behaviour enthusiasm and support for one another at all times. The Ski Trip is always a highlight of the school calendar but this year’s visit felt particularly special thanks to the smaller numbers and positive group dynamic.

A huge thank you goes to the staff who gave their time and energy to make the trip possible and to the pupils for embracing every challenge with such enthusiasm.
