WGHS and QEGS Pupils Shine in Inaugural Bake-Off Competition!

27th November 2024

A huge round of applause to Olivia (Mackie) and William (Cave), the Year 5 champions of our very first combined Bake-Off Competition across WGHS and QEGS!

The delicious showdown took place this morning, with finalists showcasing their baking skills by crafting pinwheel biscuits and vanilla whoopie pies. Judges from Holroyd Howe were thoroughly impressed with the creativity, effort, and taste of the bakes.

The competition began at home, with students submitting their sweet creations for consideration. House leaders then selected two finalists per house to represent them in this exciting event. All finalists earned valuable house points for their efforts, contributing to a spirited celebration of culinary talent.

Congratulations to all participants for their incredible work, and especially to Olivia and William for their well-deserved wins! We’re already looking forward to the next Bake-Off!
