1st XI fall agonisingly short in U19 Cup

1st February 2024

The 1st XI played MGS in the ISHC on Wednesday 31st January. The boys started under high pressure from MGS, but a change in shape allowed them to start to play through the midfield more effectively meaning QEGS went into half time with a 1-0 lead after creating some good goalscoring chances. The second half saw a tactical shift from MGS, and despite QEGS’s best efforts to weather the storm, 2 goals were conceded meaning QEGS had to push more for an equaliser. Unfortunately, MGS were able to control the game well in the closing stages and took the win, progressing through to the next round.
