Our Junior pupils benefit from a wide range of teaching styles in small classes, delivered by both their class teacher and specialist teachers across Design & Technology, Food & Nutrition, Art, Science, Music and Sport (including swimming). Pupils make use of chrome books and our outdoor Forest School in Year 3 and 4 to support their learning. Pupils in Year 5 and 6 enjoy Outdoor Education which includes climbing, kayaking, mountain biking and orienteering. Through this, each pupil is able to take advantage of the passions, talents and skills of a variety of teachers and become increasingly prepared for the routines of life in our senior section.
Our curriculum is broadened and enhanced with regular class trips, workshops and visits, alongside a residential trip every year which presents fresh challenges and fosters independence.
We encourage pupils to become leaders and to take on responsibility at the earliest opportunity, developing leadership skills in democratically elected roles. Positions for all pupils include: Form Captain, Eco-Monitor, School Councillor, Friendship Buddy, Prefect, Head Boy and House Captain/ House Vice Captain.
