Having achieved four straight As in his A Levels, Will headed to Newcastle University to study Architecture, graduating in 2012.
During his time at university Will set up numerous promotional events with BigBadRobot, the leading promotional agency in Newcastle at the time. After university Will became the Operations Manager overseeing coordinating and promoting their popular events in and around Newcastle.
Enjoying the varied nature of events promotional work, Will started his own company, Agenda, running three weekly events in the city. This lead on to Design Agenda, a social media management, marketing and web development business. One of their principal aims was to help start-up, local businesses to harness the benefits of the internet to maximise profits.
In 2013, Will started the sister company of Design Agenda; Social Agenda Ltd offering a full package of social media management services to clients, including communications audit and strategy development, social media coaching and workshops, and event publicity, graphic design and media relations. In 2014, he won The Graduate Award from Creative North for his work with Social Agenda. Will’s company went from strength to strength, acquiring clients such as Volvo, Oiler & Boiler & The Living Room in the first 12 months.
In 2015, Will sold his shares in Social Agenda and became the Brand & Marketing Manager for Oddballs Apparel Ltd, a popular underwear company with which he had been working since it began in 2014. OddBalls raise money and awareness for testicular cancer and donate 10% of each sale to charity. He has gone on to set up The Oddballs Foundation with Steve Harper (ex Newcastle United Keeper), Richard Metcalfe (ex Scotland Rugby International) and Paul Varley (CEO Newcastle Falcons) from which money raised through OddBalls is used to fight testicular cancer.
