Wednesday afternoon was a fantastic showcase of sport at QEGS as both our 1st XI Hockey and 1st XV Rugby squads took to the field in highly competitive fixtures.
Our 1st XI Hockey team, fresh off their Monday fixture, faced a tough battle in the National Cup against Sedbergh School. In a thrilling match, the team put in a determined performance but narrowly lost 4-3. It was a fantastic effort from all the players, and they should be incredibly proud of their resilience and teamwork.
Meanwhile, our 1st XV Rugby squad dominated on home turf, winning the QEGS 10s Tournament with victories over Dame Allan’s, Prince Henry’s, Hymers, Mount St Mary’s, and RGS Newcastle. It was a superb tournament, and we are immensely proud of the squad’s efforts in securing the title.
A huge thank you to all the players, staff, and visiting teams who contributed to another fantastic sporting event at QEGS.
